Abstract
A new series of thioxanthylium trifluoromethanesulfonates has been synthesized via a trifluoromethanesulfonic-acid-induced cyclization of thioether precursors. The electronic structure of these thioxanthylium salts were determined by UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, and theoretically investigated by density functional theory calculations.Keywords
