Abstract
Based on a similar report as Austria, namely an alarmingly high dropout rate, France initiated a shift of paradigm of its education system with a reform of the statutes of studies on March 8, 2018, which is essentially based on strengthened personalization and flexibility of studies, while simultaneously cherishing the systematic decision of high liability. The article discusses the selected instruments of reform of the contract of academic success, and a structured interruption of studies, including recognition of gained competences, against the background of the Austrian statute of studies, and portrays perspectives of development.
