Abstract
The article discusses theoretical concepts and approaches to the problem of metacognitive processes, psychological aspects of the formation and development of meta processes in adulthood and childhood. The results of practical study and research of thinking processes in young school age in the context of metacognitive development are presented. The data of the survey of younger students in the framework of the development of educational programs are analyzed. The views of scientists on the problems of the purpose of processes in psychological science are revealed. The features of the development of mental operations in the framework of metacognition are considered.
