Procesy o czary przed sądem wójtowskim miasta Żerkowa w pierwszej połowie XVIII wieku

Abstract

This article deals with the issue of early modern witch trials which took place before the town court of Żerków in the first half of the 18th century. The paper consider the following issues: basic information about the Żerków town in the early-modern period, the main archival sources and lastly, the problem of witchcraft-trials. At the end of the paper the Author shows the neccesity of a further vast archival query, which will allow to elaborate the issue of co-operation between town courts of Żerków, Koźmin Wielki, Koźmin Nowy and Pleszew.
