The process of borrowing between languages has been going on since the languages themselves have existed. During its existence, the French language has been influenced by many languages. Recently, the number of borrowings from English, has increased considerably. This article deals with the influence of English on the French language, the question of lexical, syntactic and phonetic borrowings from the English language and the classification of borrowings.
