ROLE OF DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING TECHNIQUES IN CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME

Abstract
Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common condition of peripheral nerve compression. Most carpal tunnel syndrome is primary, also known as idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome. Modern imaging techniques play an important role in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome as well as in assessing and predicting surgery outcome. Ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging are becoming important diagnostic techniques and should be widely indicated for patients with clinically suspected carpal tunnel syndrome.
