Abstract
The present study aimed to investigation the antibacterial properties of the modify glass ionomer cement with ZnO and TiO2 nanoparticles in two various concentrations. Two a conventional type GIC Luting Cement. Nanoparticles of ZnO and TiO2 were integrated into the component powder of GIC at 3%, and 5%w. Antibacterial activity of the modified GICs: PCM and KCR with antibacterial agents nanoparticles of ZnO and TiO2 with concentrations 3 and 5 % w were estimated for each agent respectively, in tubes of aseptically prepared nutrient broth which inoculated with bacterial isolates (Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus spp.) that's identified in present study and observed the inhibition growth of bacteria after 24hrs, 1 week and after 3 week, at 37°C. The antibacterial activity results of modified GICs with antibacterial agents ZnO/ NPs and TiO2/ NPs in 3% w with 5% w concentrations, were revealed a highly effectiveness against all different dilutions of bacterial isolated species within periods time incubation by detect the minimum inhibitory concentration.
