Synthesis and characterization of 1'-benzyl-1,4'-dimethyl-2'propyl-1H,1'H-2,6'-dibenzimidazole derivatives and their antibacterial activity studies

Abstract

A series of 1'-benzyl-1,4'-dimethyl-2'propyl-1H,1'H-2,6'-dibenzimidazole derivatives have been synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, ¹H NMR, MS and elemental analyses. Furthermore, these compounds were screened for anti-bacterial study. Ampicillin is the drug used as a standard, for comparision with all the synthesized molecules.
