Modified EBG Design Circuit Model for Isolation Improvement Between Monopole Antennas

Abstract
A combined antenna plus EBG circuit model is proposed to predict the isolation versus frequency response of monopole antennas with a single column Mushroom EBG (M- EBG) in between them. The existing circuit model for M-EBG structures is modified to include a new capacitance called plate capacitance. The new circuit model can predict the EBG stopband frequency more accurately than the existing model. The new circuit model is then combined with an existing monopole antenna circuit model to obtain the isolation versus frequency response.Keywords
