Abstract
The aim of this research is to study the teaching Turkish abroad as a foreign language with a holistic perspective. Descriptive survey model is used in this study consisting of two stages. In the first phase of the study, educational institutions abroad in which Turkish is taught as a foreign language are identified and it is determined that teaching of Turkish is included in 693 different educational institutions in 106 different countries. In the second stage of the study, 193 studies are found on teaching Turkish abroad as a foreign language and the variance of these studies is examined using content analysis according to their years, countries, publication type, subjects and research method. As a result of the research; it has been observed that there has been an increase in academic studies related to teaching Turkish abroad since 2010, the studies generally include findings about teaching Turkish in the country where the research is conducted, articles and papers are published mostly, and the qualitative method is predominantly used
