Calculation methods of electric drives and generators based on the field regulated reluctance machine

Abstract
This article reviews calculation methods of the electric drive and generator based on the field regulated reluctance machine. It considers the initial data for design of the FRRM: power, voltage, nominal and maximum rotating speed. The article reviews optimal values for the stator and rotor of the FRRM. The FRRM is compared with a synchronous machine, a DC machine and an induction machine.
