Nivel de fragilidad en adultos mayores a través del test de Barber: Caso Clínica Integral Universitaria

Abstract

This study addresses the categorization of frailty in the elderly at the Clínica Integral Universitaria, from a gerontological approach, proposing a new tool for its classification. In addition to analyzing and evaluating the situation in which the patient finds himself, proposing alternatives to provide a better quality gerontological intervention and establish a multidisciplinary work, strengthening the bonds of brotherhood as health professionals. According to the results of the investigation, frailty will become a problem for the elderly population, so the following intervention tools are proposed that will allow the gerontologist to take the appropriate measures to improve the patient's quality of life. The main purposes are to promote research and for the result to be a proposal that serves as a basis for future work on the subject of frailty in the elderly, as well as to encourage our students to reflect their own identity as professionals, expanding their panorama of the area of study and work.
