Abstract
The recent abrogation of critical treaties and the aggressive development of nuclear technologies have greatly diminished the security of the entire world, and once again the threat of nuclear holocaust looms. The new leadership in the White House promises that policy decisions will be made on the basis of science and facts and has called on health professionals to guide the nation in addressing important health challenges. Now is the time for physicians to again advocate that only the prohibition of nuclear arms can address this threat to society and human existence. Keywords
