Abstract
Today’s IT personnel must possess business and technology competencies to be effective. As such competent IT personnel are in great demand, it becomes a concern for organizations to develop, manage, and retain them in the long run. This study provides a model of IT managers’ leadership as a critical factor in such dynamics. Empirical analysis with a survey of 217 IT professionals showed that an IT manager’s transformational leadership is positively associated with IT personnel’s intention to stay. Keywords
