The Kingdom of Cambodia (Cambodia) is a civil law country whose private law, including rules of direct jurisdiction, is under the strong influence of Japanese law. Since 1996, the Japanese Government has been helping the development of the Cambodian legal system through, for example, offering training opportunities for young lawyers to study law in Japan.
