Abstract
A set of student activities is presented based on astronomical observations made by ancient and medieval astronomers. The activities are implemented using freeware planetarium software and can be accessed by astronomy educators or anyone with an interest in the history of astronomy. The use of planetarium software offers a unique possibility to reproduce landmark observations in a fun and interactive way. Keywords
