Abstract
The objectives of the research are to: 1) develop a model of BETANG portfolio-based teaching; 2) find out the effectiveness of the model for the student’s learning result; 3) know the student’s responses towards the model. The research was conducted at Muhammadiyah University of Palangka Raya using a model of ADDIE Research and Development Approach (Analysis, Design, Development or Production, Implementation or Delivery, and Evaluations) in Posttest Only Control Group Design. The results show that (1) the development of a model of BETANG portfolio-based teaching has produced a valid portfolio document consisting of Course Outline, Student Worksheet, Evaluation, and Scoring Format; (2) the developed model has produced an effective result as shown in (a) significant improvement in student’s cognitive aspect, (b) although there was no significant different result in the student’s performance skill, the implementation of assessment provides a support to the whole evaluation; (c) a high category of student’s self help, (d) high category of the portfolio ranged between 78.6 - 93.6; (3) student’s positive responses towards the model of BETANG portfolio-based teaching.
