Recent Austrian Practice in the Field of European Union Law

Abstract
The ninth report by the European Law Department of the Legal Service of the Austrian Foreign Ministry (‘Office of the Legal Adviser’, ‘Völkerrechtsbüro’), which was written under the guidance of Ges. Mag. Martin Meisel, covers some of the main developments in European Union Law during 2019. The issues covered include legal questions concerning the reform of the Energy Community Treaty (Waizer), Austrian national legislative measures and institutional questions in the context of Brexit (Kreuzhuber), the European Union’s accession to the European Convention on Human Rights (Meisel) and two pending cases before the Court of Justice in the field of external representation of the Union (Breitler/Kraschowetz).
